Likes and Dislikes

I almost used “turn ons and turn offs” but was told that was probably trademarked.

These lists are capricious, yet whimsical.  They may also be accurate.

LIKES:

Pixar movies.  Even Cars has moments.

Coen brothers flicks.  The more noir the better.

Writers not afraid of demonstrating they know stuff you don’t, from John Milton to Neil Gaiman.

Secular materialism.

William Blake.

Recursion.

The Beatles.

Steely Dan.

Beethoven.

The Decemberists.

Chess pie.

Good beer.

Neighborhood dives.

Authors of things I could never pull off.  Norman Maclean and J.R.R. Tolkien spring to mind, but so do Mark Twain and George Eliot.

Tom the Dancing Bug.

DISLIKES:

Trendiness for its own sake.

Hatefulness.

People who won’t take “yes” for an answer.

Sell-outs.

Not having the chance to be a sell-out.

Several years of my life.
