Chapter Three…

September 8, 2010

…is done, at least the first draft.  That means I’m roughly one-sixth of the way in.  Rewrote a few paragraphs that had been trailing off to nowhere, replaced with a confrontation that I thought would come later but really wanted to happen NOW.  I like it much better this way.

Chapter Four is going to be interesting–first time I’ve done anything but good ol’ first person narration for these stories.  No good way to avoid it if I want to avoid some sort of long, annoying back fill later: the protagonist is on ice under Newgrange and things are moving back in the States.  The change will be jarring, but I hope not disorienting.

On a nearly but not quite entirely unrelated note, I’m looking at standing desks, or maybe sit/stand desks. The footprint would be smaller, I’d be moving and shifting more, and I would have a nicer view out the window. What’s not to like?
