I’ve been busy

September 30, 2011

September was full of stuff. A family reunion. A contract on the old house. Bouchercon two weeks ago, Archon today and tomorrow. Soccer practices and games, Laura’s busy season, moving the many cubic yards of compost from the driveway to the back yard. Feeling obliged to read more, since Bouchercon dropped twenty-five pounds of books on me.

And writing. Did I mention writing? Upped the contents of my query hopper to five at a time, pushed through another several thousand words of the old manuscript, and tossed in a short story with a, um, festive holiday theme for kicks.

This is a long-winded explanation for why I’ve not been here, blogging. Something had to give, and sleep won the coin toss, so the blog suffered.

But no more. Things are aligning. Sometimes, in your life, you can feel the gears mesh and the transmission engage, and you know as soon as you hit the gas you’ll be flying.

blogging is nice. family is better. writing takes priority over a blog, so does a query letter and a soccer game.

Good choices and I’m glad things are aligning. But no matter what keep on writing. You need to write

Sometimes other things force you away from writing, but if it’s your real love then you always return.
