Still alive, still writing

June 10, 2012

Went to Boston for six days to visit friends–didn’t write while there but filed away notions for a horror story based on the smell of the room we stayed in: old wood. The B & B was actually pretty nice, but the smell was inspiring.Image

Anyway, back to the revisions. Combing through for places where dialog could replace a reference to dialog at this stage, while trying to keep straight what gimmicks I’ve used. Did I have Ray wave food around for emphasis before? It’s been a while.

You could have ray wave a watermelon around for emphasis. It would be different. 😉

    a) we standard-issue humans repeat gestures all the time.
    b) I found the dresser drawers’ smell of old wood which I suspect had held smokers’ clothes in 20 out of the past 50 years less than inspiring, But glad it worked for you…
