Another busy weekend not writing (much)-quick update

October 7, 2012

Did some preliminary work out at the cabin preparatory to tearing down the shed, which sucked the time out of Saturday. On the plus side, the revision to the query letter for the faerie story took exactly thirty seconds (removed the one line that pointed at the second half of the story) and the synopsis revisions were painless too–found an exceptionally clear guide to doing a genre-fiction synopsis at http://www.publishingcrawl.com/2012/04/17/how-to-write-a-1-page-synopsis/

The coolest part of looking at the synopsis guide was just how nicely the main plot of the faerie story lined up with the salient points of the guide. It’s almost as if, you know, reading all those novels over the decades left an impression on me of how novels should look.

Today we’re doing massive clean and tidy for an impending family dinner function Friday night, so I may only be able to squeeze in some words this evening. I left my protagonist in the new SF story in a bad way a few days ago–really need to do something about that.

This coming weekend is Archon, where I plan to hit several sessions Friday morning, hang out all of Saturday, and test out my portable QR Code link to my ghost story as a test of buttons-as-marketing. Where’s that graphic…

Since I have a dumb phone, not a smart phone, I can’t scan anything. Writer with cabin in woods… You don’t do intricate woodwork by any chance, do you? 😉
